Outdoor Range Rules

  1.  Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
  2.  Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
  3. All shooters must wear hearing and eye protection when on the range.
  4.  Loading gun is permitted only when shooter is preparing to shoot.
  5.  Only one shell may be loaded at one time in gun except shooting doubles, then two shells may be loaded.
  6.  All gun actions must be opened immediately after shooting and before the shooter turns to leave the shooting section.
  7.  Any load with a velocity greater than 1290 FPS with maximum shot charge of 1 1/8 ounces, or 1325 FPS with a maximum shot charge of 7/8 ounces or less as measured in any individual shotshell. No shot larger than 7 ½ can be used.
  8.  Picking up empty shotshells during a round of shooting is prohibited.
  9. Spectators must be no closer than the sidewalk behind the field.
  10. No alcohol on club grounds.
  11. Only Gateway Gun Club employees or an authorized personnel are permitted in the trap or skeet houses.
